- Topic: How to use PT after I sell my Digi003r

Your best bet might the Mbox Micro, a USB-style dongle that has a mini-headphone jack and nothing else. It will allow your protools LE to continue to operate after your 003 is gone. If it was me, I'd probably go for a very tiny Mbox, just in case I needed to reccy something quick after importing rec...

I can confirm this. I was told the same thing by both a Digi tech guy, and a good friend of mine who makes big records. My direct experience (inspired by many, many similar discussions) is that this is not true. I've bounced and bussed mixes on LE and HD systems, and compared the resulting waveform...

There are some very good multi-tracks from Brian Eno & David Byrne's "My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts" available for remixing. GREAT tracks to play with.

This is a great deal! The first Digimax goes to 24 bits/48k, has a separate 4-rail power supply and was hand-built in Louisiana at Presonus HQ, not in China. Clean, transparent pre's with a "smiley" EQ Enhance button, adjustable limiters & 10db pads on all channels and phase flippers on 1 & 2. TRS o...

Once you start moving the digital faders around, you're doing some math on the signal which I'm trying to avoid with the whole out-of-the-box mix process. This is not accurate at all. I don't have the technical answer at my fingertips, but leaving the PT faders at unity to avoid "math on the signal...

Instead of bouncing you could try bussing to a new audio track and recording the bus mix. This has the advantage of not using the bounce handler, and allowing you to stop, make a quick change, and continue recording from where you left off. Bouncing and recording to a new audio track yield identical...

Also, I listened to that beatles song she said she said, and I can hear that compression sound I'm pretty sure. Did george martin use a lot of compression or just when he felt it suited the music? Are you kidding? The Beatles stuff is compressed up down and sideways. If you can get your hands on th...

The itty bitty Yamaha MSP5 's are superb (for the price). Although they retail for about $250 each, you can find them on Ebay for about $350/pr, or maybe less! They fit in a standard milk crate (aka the Musician's Briefcase), accept xlr & trs, have a good couple of switches on the back to tweak with...
