I found Logic has a steeper learning curve than Performer. If you are familiar with Garage Band, Logic will seem more familiar, and you will be using the same sorts of resources, just lots more of them. Logic is naturally more complex than GB, but like most DAWs you will never use all the functions,...

Logic Users - Key Commands

I've finally had some time to explorer Logic 8. I've done some work on it, and on Logic Express, but I never felt like I mastered many of the possibilities. I usually work on DP, which I still find a bit easier for band recordings. I'm doing some film music for the local ski hill, and Logic is the p...

I use Logic and Digital Performer. The audio editing in Logic isn't nearly as friendly as DP, but the other features make it a winner. I like Logic for the ease of putting something together fast. For demos or the sort of film work I do, I can have a song going in just a few minutes. The loop librar...

Re: Motu Service

A while ago, I said some pretty bad things about Motu's service. (in a thread that I can't find) I had occasion to send another unit in and this time the turn arond was really quick. I sent my unit out on Friday and got the new one back the following Friday. (last time it took almost 6 weeks) I've ...

I don't run PT, but I've had no issues doing what has been suggested. With Digital Performer, all I had to do was insert my software disc for the new start up drive to see it, and I was ok.

I did this when I up graded from a G4 to a G5 too. took a day of drive swaps, and some patience. but no dramas.

Re: Guitar Sound on Here Come The Warm Jets

I am dying to figure out how the guitar tone on the title track to Brian Eno's "Here Come The Warm Jets" was created. I am sure it is a formula that no one for sure knows, but if anyone has ideas how to recreate that controlled fuzzy guitar I'd love to know. It sounds so amazing. I saw a short film...

The first Lucero record, The Attic Tapes, was done this way, mainly because Roy joined after they recorded most of it. I think in general its best for everybody to play together at once, but you work with what you got. Dire Straits' "Brothers In Arms" was supposedly done this way as well--or at lea...

Jeez, I would have spent the $500. I have two G16s, and I paid a lot more than that. These days I don't do much recording on them, as I've gone over to 32 channels of MOTU. I did have the 16T fired up today. I need to do some backwards guitar on a song or two, and this is the best way to do that tri...

I have refered to the manual and havnt realy figured out how exactly to take 16 tracks of audio and mix them down to 2 tracks while still keeping my busses intact for things like buss compre...

Roger Here is a link to a song I used the Excelsior on... the organ is probably running through it, but its the guitar solo at the end, and t...

I have this thing called an Excelsior LS-1 Rotating Speaker Simulator. It's Italian, and I believe was made for accordions. I bought mine in an accordion shop in North Dakota. It sounds pretty good, and does ramp up and down. I'd seen it in the shop they year before, priced at $225 or something. It ...

Steve Rosenthal

I was digging the Steve Rosenthal interview, when he dropped a bomb on me. He was in TV Babies!! I don't know about any of you, but the Song Little White Lies is one of those great 1-hit wonder tunes in my mind. Thing is, I don't know anyone else who has ever heard this song. There were several copi...
