I think it's great for what it is. If it were anything else, who knows what any of us would think about it. It's all relative. Albums (by actual artists) are works of art. It's like saying "would the Mona Lisa look as good if it had more brown in it?" Yes, but to a large degree, the producer is res...

Piper at the Gates of Dawn - Crap production?

I have known / loved this album for years-- but I realize the only reason I like it is because I like the songs and the writing. Does anybody else feel like this album could have been A LOT BETTER? I don't know much about Norman Smith, but everything I read on the subject leads me to believe that he...

Repairs - Westchester, NY or NYC

I have a UA 2108 and a Drawmer 1960 that I just want checked out to make sure it's running properly, tubes, etc.

Can anyone recommend a good place to have this done?

Thanks

Eco-Friendly Studios

Don't know which category this goes in...... Does anyone know of any eco-friendly/green studios (big or small) that have been built that rely on solar power/wind power/water power/whatever? I once heard of a solar powered mobile recording van.....I'm sure there must be some out there or at least oth...

Syd went out gracefully....and NOT because he had mental illness all those years ago (which he appeared to recover from somewhat). IMO he was much more imaginative in his young age that the other members of PF combined....lyrically, melodically this is so obvious. If he had only kept it together ups...

Hey, I'm building a place on my property and am hoping I might be able to do solar powered or other eco friendly/less cost intensive method.

I've heard solar panels need 100% sun exposure (no shade whatsoever) for 9am to 3pm......would be interested to learn more.

I think it must be pretty tricky to get a loan for a studio these days.....take the following scenario, for example. Client A is applying for a loan for a recording studio. Anticipated revenue is $500 per day, investment requirement is at least $50,000. The only way to increase this (if the model is...

You are overthinking this. Just get an Olympus DS2. Good quality, long recording times.

You don't need "broadcast quality" mics.

Maybe true, but the O12 will always sound better on an acoustic guitar than the U47.
