I'll be there Friday and Saturday at least - shopping for gear for our new studios and concert halls (UCSD). Any good music happening Saturday or Sunday night?

chebyshev uses waveshaping to distort or reshape the waveform. waveshaping maps every input value to an output value - clipping is a real simple type of waveshaping where every input value above a clip level maps to the clip level for the output value. chebyshev uses the chebyshev polynomials to res...

It's working from both of my ISPs - I'll check with my web service to see if they're having any trouble.

free plugins from soundhack (RTAS,AU,VST; Mac/Win)

I have just finished a bundle of five plugins that I developed as class demonstrations while teaching computer music and studio techniques at UC San Diego (+decimate was initially co-developed with Akira Rabelais while at CalArts). These are all fairly simple plugins, but should be somewhat unique. ...

It's not a big problem with the ATCs, we are just trying to tweak them out as flat as they can go. And no, it isn't the room, we've had it analyzed as well (not that it doesn't have its modes). However, the crossovers (1990) are limited in adjustment (fixed frequency and slope)and getting just a lit...

any suggestions for highend crossovers?

We have a set of ATC SCM200 passive monitors in our control room, and are using ATC crossovers (EC23) to drive them. I just did an analysis of all of our monitors, and I am finding a bit of a hump at 200-250 and a dip at around 3K, both very close to the crossover points. We weren't able to tweak th...

I know, I know, boo. But as a one-person company, I gotta start somewhere, since I don't have a staff to handle simultaneously churning out alternate versions. Believe me, I'd like to sell a Windows version too - I hear it's a pretty popular operating system. With any luck, I can get a Windows vers...

Just wanted to strongly second the request to port to AU. There are 10,000 people on the Logic Users Group list alone who would love to get their hands on plugs like these. speaking as a one man plugin company (who does vst, au and rtas), porting to au and vst from rtas is a bit time consuming (you...

Will the real Henry Cowell please stand up? Three photos of him on this page: http://home.swipnet.se/sonoloco6/Mode/cowell.html But then again, here's that same pic of the Rhythmicon (on the site I noted above -- doh!), indicating that it is Cowell. http://www.obsolete.com/120_years/machines/rhythm...
