I got it working!!!! :) I noticed when I shut the PSU off that one led was flickering a little bit. So I started checking the connections on things. Turns out I forgot to solder one of the leads on a cap when I built the thing three months ago. It's crazy the thing worked at all. Thanks for a...

Ok, after doing some more trouble shooting this afternoon, I've discovered the -15V output is actually putting out -19 volts. That seems like a big difference. Is it possible the voltage regulator went bad? :? As far as the transformers, I didn't have the old ones so I had to find some that would wo...

it's not really so much asking someone to 'change the way he plays', but asking them to adapt themselves to the situation they have in front of them. This is the exact point I'm trying to make, only for the recordist instead. I feel that the band's sound comes form the way they play. If they crank ...

Jakeao, also remember that not everyone has the Steve Albini dogma that you seem to have. And also remember BOTH are valid ways to make records. Kudos to you for having a philosophy that works for you and your clients, but remember it isn't the ONLY way. Having used both, I totally understand the t...

These type of post always seem to piss me off. ( maybe it comes from my drum bashing background  ) Anyway, it amazes me that people would go through the trouble to alter the sound of the band. If you're hired to record the band, than good or bad record what you get. Now if the band wants you t...
