As a compressor freak, it seems a must have. After 5 years I am still learning new ways to use my RNC. I hope FMR make an E.Q. one day. Damn there goes my new years resolution to refrain from new gear purchases.

Just got a twin this weekend (1970).
I tried my Fulltone OCD and a Boss Distortion OD (forgot the model) but both worked well. The important thing was to keep the Drive turned down a lot on the pedal. like around 2 O'clock, to keep the tone in control.
Good Luck.

My questions for Jeff (1)what do you do to stimulate creativity in your song-writing? (any tips that help with writer's block for you specifically) (2)how are lyrics done in relation to a given song? (written first or last) (3)is a melody generally the first thing that is made or a chord structure? ...

Have both and generally prefer the GR for vocals and better all-round pre. It has a nice extra aux. line level out for monitoring a split signal too.

I was also just in SF. Lots of rain. As it turns out the topic should read something like when music recording sessions turn bad.... A couple of friends hijacked the singer to play dungeons and dragons for the last 3 days straight. Making a grand total of finished songs zero. Todays I am back to fam...

Anyone else doing a "big" recording session this w

Anyone else doing a session this week? Got the players (singer just trained in and another guy is a fellow TOer), instruments, amps and space ready to roll. Got some drinks to celebrate Obama. Anything I am missing here? I will be playing on all the tracks and recording to Logic ITB. Doing an alt. r...

thinner cymbals will pretty much ALWAYS be more prone to cracks than a thicker counterpoint. Sabians are well made in general (though I much prefer Zildjian and Istanbul for what I play). It is more than likely technique and if the drummer is that heavy handed I would steer them towards the heavier ...

I know one could theoretically print or bounce down to a stereo track and then mess around with the pitch but I want a real time control to change it on the fly. Obviously the processing power is unlikely to keep up here. just a wish.

I would like it to do a global pitch adjustment like in tape based systems. So I can record some crazy harmonies etc.. Thats the best advantage of tape to this day. I DO not like that there are so many many options for editing that just gets confusing and distracts you from the song.

In Mpls. at least I always thought it was strange that drummers tended to be more into recording than others. I certainly enjoy playing the drums the best, but its hard with neighbors and small children sleeping to practice and improve. (never liked the electronic drum pads).
