DMM Vinyl Mastering In Britain?
Anyone have any suggestions for this, other than Abbey Road?

Flipping phase on vocals in the mix
I've been mixing a tune where flipping phase on the vocal seemed to bring it out more and pushed other elements back in the mix. I could be going mad however.
Is this likely to cause any problems further on, or as the vocal has no bleed from anywhere should I go with it?

I prefer a low-cut, myself. I learned early on with live work to high-pass everything, I haven't done it so much with recording but probably should try it. I know an 8x10 cab doesn't put out lower than 80hz or so. Can you describe why it's better? It's getting rid of a lot of flabby bass tha...

I usually cut bass or kick. It just depends on which one is going to cover the sub end of things, where the resonant peak is in the kick and what octave the bass player is in. If your mix environment is less than ideal I'd check those mixes in a bunch of different places before committing 100% (but...

Is high-passing electric bass as awesome as I think it is?
I've just had a minor breakthrough with high-passing bass at around 60-70hz for clean and as high as 90hz for distorted (shelved usually rather than a cliff-face drop). I'm using a less than ideal room to mix in, but going between various speakers, headphones and my Tannoy Reveal 5A's this has made ...

Subtractive EQ (Especially Mids)
Okay, I think I get taking out lows and highs where needed, but I could do with understanding midrange a bit more. At the moment I'm just sweeping through until I find something that sounds right, but I'm struggling with finding space for multiple guitar overdubs. Especially ones with thick distorti...

A bit late but I have to say this is a brilliant preamp. Not keen on it for a drum overhead, as has been said it's a bit too slow and mushy, but great outside the kick, as a bass DI, and anything else. A friend of mine likes overloading it when recording snare. Oddly enough I got this one as a deal ...

Giving them a call was definitely the way to go! Very helpful and will be sending the RNP off for repair (20$ repair, $10 for the part + shipping either way). Slow on the email but great company on the phone. Going to have to wait another week to send the RNP though, another preamp just died and I n...

It's not going to be for longer than an hour or two so I think I might get away with it during the day. Unfortunately the only bass amp and cab I've got access to is this SVT Classic and 4x12. I did experiment with the Sansamp Classic in terms of flipping phase, though I'm worried about what problem...

Recording SVT Bass Amp In A House - How Quiet/Loud Can I Get
I'm kind of stuck in terms of re-amping some bass for a new record I'm working on. The only place I can record is in my house, which is a terraced house (though only joining onto one other house). The music is basically post-rock with electronic elements. My question is, how quiet can I run the SVT ...
