Re: SPL Metering

I think the engineer should receive a shock at 110db. Negative reinforcement goes a long way.

Re: Indie Rock in Cleveland?

I'm from cleveland, and am way into indie rock. But there is no indie rock there. So I moved to Chicago. That's your best bet. Good luck.

I'm getting the Neumann logo tattooed on my ass, only it's going to say Newman. Clever, I know.

Re: Who is Tom Waits?

See, now I don't feel so bad not knowing who Ian McWhatis was. Didn't he play "Cooter" on the Dukes of Hazzard ?? Not as such, but he was Renfield in Francis Ford Coppola's "Dracula" movie...the one with Gary Oldman and Winona Ryder. Mmmm...Winona Ryder... I'll be out back. He played the crazy cab ...

SPAM saved my life.

So i checked my e-mail, and there it was - penis enlargement. I couldn't resist. Sure enough - it worked! The tremendous results presented 2 problems: it's hard to get something like that up, and my pants didn't fit anymore. SPAM to the rescue again, viagra and diet pills saved the day. Not to menti...

Finding space

I've been running Pragma out of my apartment since December. I've been looking around Chicago for a space to work out of, but have had little luck finding something that seems like it would fit my needs out of the box. I've concluded that if i'm going to get the job done right, i'm going to have to ...

Re: gear insurance, shipping insurance..oh my!

I spent weeks trying to get my gear insured. I would call places several times and not get called back (even from musicproinsurance.com). It was near impossible to get someone to take my money. I don't know why it had to be that hard. I'm not sure if its because I'm a small client or what.. but mone...

BTW, I'm also looking for more mix work. If anyone wants to send over some stuff to offload some work I'm hip!

Thanks,

Dan,

Understand that by giving away gear, you're making it hard for guitar center to sell gear. =)

Re: Will mix for free.

I once worked for a guy that tought me a really important lesson. He told me that "if you work for free, your work is worthless". Before you bring out the flamethrowers, think about those words for a minute. Also keep in mind that there are other ways of being compensated for your work other than w...
