There's a lot of love for this bunch in the UK at the moment as they just played Reading and Leeds festivals, admittedly very well although Lars clearly can't keep up anymore. The new recordings, material aside, sound really bad to me. Don't kell me, but personally I even prefer the engineering on S...

Bloc Party - Initmacy

OK, I'm only halfway through this and it seems a little patchy so far, buy what the fuck is going on with the mastering? "Halo" is clipping all over the place, it sounds horrible! I don't want to start another "oh, woe is me, loudness wars kidnapped my wife" style diatribe but really some of the lim...

logic is worth the $500 for space designer alone. Best digital reverb ever IMO - even if you use protools or nuendo.. just get it to process your tracks. :D I love logic but I've always preferred altiverb to space designer - I don't have a copy but I often work at a studio that does. I'm told the m...

I don't think there would be any problem apart from the track limits - depending on the resolution of the audio files. I don't think LE will play back anything above 48khz, or at least it wouldn't on the mbox I was transferring some files with a while back.

Just hit the escape key + 9. Total control, thats what I love about Logic8. Thanks! I've been procrastinating getting all my key commands together (I've been on Logic almost 10 months now, I think) and it's really time I sat down and just spent a day learning them, 'cause this is getting stupid at ...

At a very basic level, when I was first learning this stuff I found it MUCH easier to understand when accompanied by a visual aid showing phase cancellation in action on the actual waveforms. I think it's often underestimated just how strange the concept of phase cancellation seems to a complete beg...

I can't believe how many gun-related suggestions there are in this thread! Coming from the UK, it's really odd to see how commonplace gun-related paraphernalia is in the US.

I might be wrong, but I think this is to differentiate between a reissue that has been mastered (and converted to digital) from the original analog tapes (the type you are asking about) and a reissue that has been mastered/converted from some other source, such as a vinyl. That could be bogus info b...

I don't know if it's the case with 8 but Logic Express 7 had limits on the amount of tracks that could be recorded simultaneously (12 I think) and the number of aux tracks you could have (maybe 8, I'm not sure). There were also a few useful features missing, like the ability to hide tracks. I'm not ...

Sonalksis EQ and Comp - great "musical" performance from both of these. Andrew Garber Warp Drive Distortion - seriously awesome distortion plugin. There are hardly any parameters but this thing really does what I want a distortion plugin to do. Camel Audio stuff is fun sometimes when you're just loo...
