Propellerheads Record

Hey all. First post in about ten million years. I'm curious if anyone here is using Propellerheads Record. After years of recording on a PC, I'm finally switching to a new iMac, and will have to lose or re-buy a lot of plugins as a result...so I figured I might as well entertain new DAW options, too...

I would reinstall with TinyXP, which has almost everything disabled.

Also, you know how to uncheck stuff from msconfig? start >> run >> msconfig >> startup >> uncheck Itunes helper, quicktime, etc etc.

I have seen Pete's photos of this, they're great! I agree with eeldip and wonder which entities are responsible for which parts of the sound of this record. But I have to say I adore all the chiptune type shit going on in the background of every song. The first five songs are just one AWESOME POP HI...

It is indeed kind of obvious that the record went through some post-Hager tweaking--the drums sound like a Black Eyed Peas record or something. I met Josh last year through Pete Weiss and talked with him about this project...and I know a TOMag piece was being hatched between those guys. I'm sure the...

This new Devo

...is kicking my ass. I LOVE it. If I could have designed a Devo comeback album in my head it would pretty much have been exactly this.

WHERE'S THE RECORDING-DEVO ARTICLE, LARRY?!!? I know it's in the works...

Sweet. I love that Zorlon Cannon. Tell you what I do, polyphony-wise. I've got a Roland JP-8080 racked up with the modular, and I soldered up a cable that collapses the stereo headphone output from the JP to a mono 1/8" signal. (modular synths don't seem to like line level.) And I've got a midi patc...

John, when is your newly mature self coming up here to mjau-n-inverse-land? We could use another Phonograph show at Castaways.
