I'll go $250 but that's a low as I can go considering it all works properly and has new stand ends I made.

Again, so far Windows 8 has been amazing to use for me with my setup. Definitely worth a look I think.

Windows 7 has been very stable for me. In fact, Windows 8 has proven to be even better if you can learn how to use it or can get over it being "different". I have 2 Macs as well but I use a custom built Windows 8 PC with Reaper as my main DAW. I also have Reaper on my Macbook Pro along with Logic to...

I used to own an M3500. It was a great, reliable console and sounded really good too. I even liked the EQ. This looks like a great deal for someone. Older Japanese consoles are awesome. I have a Ramsa 8616 now and it's similar to the M3500 in sound but EQ not as flexible as the 3500.

I have worked on PCs for a living as well as being an audio engineer.. I second the recommendation for Seagate hard drives. At least 7200rpm SATA II drives. I've had fair success with Hitachi drive as well. The SSD idea is a great one and they do speed up PCs when used as a system drive for Windows ...

I've used Sound Forge since the late 90s when it was Sonic Foundry. It really hasn't changed that much over the years although some versions have worked better(less buggy) than others. I found 10 to be too buggy personally. Maybe 11 fixes that. I'd say the only reason to upgrade would be if you want...

FS: Studiomaster Star System 8 channel inline console.

I have here for sale a circa 1993 Studiomaster Star System mixing console. It's the strange looking upright model they made for awhile. 8 mic pres - I read somewhere that these were some of the best pres on any later Studiomaster model. 3 band EQ on each channel. Fixed freq/Q however there are 2 par...

I like beat up and older stuff in general but I am usually careful even of my beater instruments because they are irreplaceable due to the vibe etc. Areas I totally agree with this concept is mics on drums and my car. It's never fun having a drummer whack your vintage 421 or hammer the AT Pro37r tha...

Man, I had a Topaz for a few years and I never thought the pres lacked personality. Actually I always thought it was one of those consoles that everything you put in sounds better coming out. It sounded a bit fluffy to me but it was great for certain things. I agree that the Topaz to an Amek won't b...

Why do you want all in one? Why not a good firewire or USB mixer with a PC or Mac? I'm still baffled that the studio where I'm a tech uses an older Radar when their console has firewire to go straight into the DAW. They do the sessions on the Radar and then transfer the files on a CD to the DAW to m...
