maybe check out the dangerous music 2bus? it's a 16 channel summing amp. it's made here in nyc, been getting great reviews, they have an LE version which is 1400 or so.

my band did our EP on an 8-track machine, did no edits, and only mixed digitally because we didn't have a good enough analog desk and wanted some automation. we never use autotune or fix the drummer. in my opinion and experience, that makes for a much more engaging and personal recording, one that p...

wow, lots of replies this time... :shock: i think it's definately gonna be a case of do two mixes and chose the best. spent the better part of the day at my mate's place printing some distressor and neve compressors and some nice reverbs and stuff... but i don't know that it will actually make the f...

not too bad. alot of very low sub information that is killing the headroom and making the mix sound dull. i would definately try shifting the tonal balance more towards the highs. it also seems a little flat dynamically, although that may be due to the mp3-ing.

staying aesthetically/conceptually focused on a mix.

just out of curiosity, how many of you would rather mix a project completely within one studio, even though it may not be as high end as others you have access to, just to stay focused on your mix concept. I'm mixing some new tracks for my band, and trying to decide if i should shoot over to my mate...

thanks alot man! it's all stuff that we've recorded here in our loft. tracked onto a tascam trs8 1/2" 8tr machine, then transferred to logic through a motu 828. did some overdubs in logic, and mixed it there.
