Re: do you ever get sick of it

(in my best david byrne voice) ....same as it ever was, same as it ever was.... like dave touched on, i think it's ALL about perspective. if you can manage to see things in a certain light, you can maintain your drive and confidence and somehow manage to burl thru all the bullshit.... i think someti...

Re: You weren't kidding!

look, i'm not too hip on the super high end "audiophile" movement myself. but there are a lot of people out there that make a shitload of money. these people have always existed, and will always exist, history will show you that. they have to spend their money on SOMETHING. you think it's gonna be s...

Re: new strings wow duh

i like the hair cut analogy, tho. that's a good one....

Re: Panning preferences?

hey adam, have you ever had any problems with the bass tracks panned? I used to screw around with this a lot (bass mic one side, bass di the other), but something seemed intuitively wrong about doing it that way. i would always check mono for phase. this was some time ago when i knew less than i do ...

Re: Patchbay Strategy Help

hey swingdoc, one way to skin a cat, and it's worked really well for me... i take my outs of my tape deck and run them all to a half normaled bay, and then on to the mixer. this allows me to affect the signal BEFORE it hits the electronics in the board. it further allows me to mult a signal, send it...

Re: WOHOO! Flashy new TapeOp board.

perhaps all this inside humor belongs in the "off topic" section? it's a little tiresome and seems to be taking over the board these days.

Re: Tape, or not to tape... that is the question...

easy gentlemen, i don't think the original poster was intending to start another digi vs. analog debate. he had a specific idea in mind and wanted to know whether or not people here thought the deck in question might be fun for him to try out in this situation. pretty straight forward. besides, he's...

Re: Tape, or not to tape... that is the question...

hey buzz, i've been recording to an msr16 for a couple of years and just picked up an ms16 (1" 16 trk). the two don't compare. even at 30 ips, the 1" has a shit load more bottom. it sounds to me that you want the "sound" that tape can impart and if thats the case, i'm not sure that the msr16 is what...
