Re: ProTools file destruction...
That's what I was thinking... although my OS is not on my D drive. I think I'm going to backup/reformat/reinstall everything and start frest with PT 6.4.

Re: ProTools file destruction...
Thanks for all your feedback. I trashed the PT database files but I don't know if it's helped the stability of my machine. However, I've noticed that most of the files that were damaged were all recently created... I'm also getting weird errors like "Runtime error..... terminated in an unusual way",...

Re: ProTools file destruction...
My PC has been pretty stable in the past---at least until the summer. I'm wondering if it's heat? I'm planning on upgrading to PT 6.4, and I know I upgraded to 6.1 after they came out with that update, but for some reason it still says 5.3.1 when it boots(?) What does deleting the Digidesign Databas...

Re: ProTools file destruction...
I'm running Windows XP and PT LE 5.3.1 (or maybe 6.1... last update before 6.4). I've also got a DVD burner, a CD burner, a 40 gig system drive, and a 160 gig backup drive. I was getting errors, not only in the wav files, but in the pro tools sessions. Sometime a file would close down and say "Acces...

ProTools file destruction...
I'm having a problem with my 001 rig whereas my files are being destroyed (on a fairly regular basis) when I'm opening a PTS. As the file opens the "locate audio" box comes up, and I do a search for the file; most of the time the correct file is still in the Audio Files folder, however, I get a mess...

Re: PC to Mac
When I had Jeff mix a song, I consolidated the regions all wrong, bussing the audio out to a new track to make a full audio region. Now I highlight all the tracks (or the ones that need consolidating) and choose Edit > Consolidate region .... Pro Tools generates new, consolidated wav files that can ...

Re: Another Wilco/Ghost is Born thread....
I really like "Handshake Drugs" and "Theologians". It's cool that they steam the album on their website too. Wasn't it recorded at Sear Sound? That's interesting after reading the Sear interview in the last tapeop.

"Soda Girl" - Music by Wallace's Line
Hey guys! I wanted to share a song with you that was included on the Tapeop Messageboard Compilation CD called "Soda Girl". The song had 5 stars for awhile on GarageBand.com (Song of the Day on May 1st) and was almost chosen for a national radio spot. Let us know what you think! http://www.garageban...

Re: Bowie
Artistically, appropriation isn't something new. The Postmodernist photographic fad was to take pictures of other peoples famous pictures and call it new.
You can hear clips of people's remixes on his website.

Re: Does T-Racks suck?
Well, I'm leaning toward the sentiment stated in this title. After finally installing the plugin, I was able to get a few good sounds, especially on acoustic guitar. However, my settings are lost after about 5 minutes--everything goes to flat. I installed the updated driver but it still doesn't work...

FS: Fender Super Reverb
This is a mid '70s Silverface Super Reverb (with the master volume knob). This amp is in good condition. Both channels work, as does the vibrato, however, I don't have the vibrato switch. Two speakers were replaces with Mojo tone speaker, but I have the originals. $675 obo Call or email for pics and...
