Last time I got to demo a bunch of microphones, I ended up drooling over a Charter Oak SA538. If I ever drop $1000 on a microphone, that will probably be the one.

Anyone can learn to replace filter caps if they are willing to put a few hours into some soldering/desoldering practice. It is a skill worth obtaining.

I use Canare Star Quad for mic cables, but it seems like a bit of overkill for line level signals. If you are getting interference in a balanced line level signal, you probably should be looking into solutions other than cables.

Some 400SCs were sold with 3.0GHz chips. However, a louder fan was included in the 3.0GHz model. Thus the 2.8GHz model was most popular for recording as it was the fastest model with the quieter fan.

So be careful with your cooling if you move up to a faster processor....

You don't want high Q, if it is high Q there will only be a few notes it chugs on, and the rest of the notes will be relatively quiet.
