It is a bandcamp site, but I have my own domain name. I'm a big fan of bandcamp.

Oops. Should have done a search. My mic still passes signal but does not sound like it use to. I'm not getting any distortion. Also, looking at the guts of the mic there are not any charred parts. I've never knowingly ran 48V through it (I know - that's what they all say  ). I'd forgotten abou...

ribbon damaged in ribbon mic?
Hello. My ShinyBox 46 is unmodded and has been a pleasure to record with. I just used it recently and it did not sound too good. I decided to open it up and this is what I found. If you look at the pics the ribbon does not appear to be broken. But it has sag and is a bit twisted. It looks like the "...

Re: Swervedriver Reunites and Tours in '08!
I'll go out on a limb and venture that I'm not the only one who LOVES Swervedriver's brand of hard shoegaze. Adam Franklin is my guitar hero. I hope they come to Seattle! I got to see Swervedriver open for Hum in Atlanta in 1998. It was insane. I have a recording of it somewhere... I hope they come...

Hey Randy. Thanks for the reply. I checked a speaker out with the multimeter (analog). I got a reading of 11 ohms. I read somewhere to get the nomimal number you multiply by 1.3. That gives me 15.6 which would seem to make the speaker 16 ohms. I was thinking with 8.16 OHMS printed on the speaker it ...

speaker ohm question
I've got a couple of old CTS 10" speakers (137-7607) and I'm trying to figure out the ohms of the speakers. On the back of the speaker magnet there is stamped 8.16 OHMS. Is this 8 (point) 16 OHMS or 8 (to) 16 OHMS? Or neither one? I'm assuming if 8.16 means its an 8 OHM speaker that if I wire them i...

I'm a stay-at-home-dad. Have been for 7 years (7 year old girl and 4 year old boy). I'm amazed at all the other stay-at-home-dads on this board. I don't feel so weird and alone now. :D I was in a pretty time consuming band before my daughter was born. The band broke up before her birth (not because ...

FS: EH 12AY7 Preamp (x2)
I've got two EH 12AY7 preamps up for sale. I just got a Hamptone JFET and really don't need the 12AY7s anymore. $325.00 for the both (which includes shipping and the glorious PayPal fees). I'll also throw in two 3' Hosa XLR to TRS cables. -or- $165.00 for one (includes shipping/PayPal). Also will th...

Well, I use the Startouch and it sounds great to me (no tone suckage that I can tell - but I don't have good ears). Tech support is A+. When I bought the pedal I had a specific need for it. But that specific need never happened. I did not even hook the pedal up. I didn't send it back because I was s...
