Man ... I grew up in that room! It is strange to be belting out vocals and have this huge mirror in front of you. Can I have a fan blowing my mullet back please? My sister came over to use the internet and was in the next room and I was all "lalalalallalala". I guess you just have to keep going. pos...

Recording my record in the next two weeks ...

Just dropping a note to the board to say that I'm recording my solo record during the next two weeks. I've picked up quite a bit of info here over the years. Now I will try to put it to good use. I post to my blog every day on my progress. I'm on day 2 of recording right now. www.armanbohn.com/blog

Cool - you on Mac or PC? I've had quite few downloads but very few responses (i'm guilty of this too).

If anyone else can get this running on a Mac VST host, let me know.

I made it with synthedit - so does that mean it won't work on mac? It should work in any VST host like Cubase or Logic. No AU support though.

What did you try it in Joel?

Toy Piano VSTi BETA

I just finished the BETA of my first VSTi - Toy Piano. It's a sample based instrument. Pretty basic ADSR controls. Velocity sensitive. If you download it, please register on my blog and leave some feedback on how it sounds/works. Or just leave a comment here... I have a few more VSTi's in mind (much...

I like the sound of the stock amp. I also like the bitmo mods. I would take the Bitmo mods over the stock amp. There are more options for tone. The mods were around 40 bucks. I could get a really bad distortion pedal or do the mods - which sound better than pedals (to me). I've built my fair share o...

Well- The Blackheart has a tone stack (bass, mid, treb) and the epi just has a volume knob. ( I know the Epi combo has tone controls). I don't have an Epi - so I can't compare them. I did the mod so I could get more voicings out of the amp. When you flick the switch - the tone changes quite a bit. I...

yeah - It wasn't a really fair test.

I should have compensated with a little more gain on the amp when I switched from 5 watts down to 3 watts.

Instead, I just added more mic pre to level the volume.

The middle pos. is suppose to be close to the amp stock.

Yes - I'll be posting here when I get Toy Piano done.

Thanks for taking a listen ... what did you think of the sounds?

I have a lot more experimenting to do with it, but I'm liking it even more with the mods.

Blackheart (like Epi Junior) With Bitmo mods-Samples Posted

I just did the Bitmo Triple Bypass mod on my Blackheart 5w amp.

I tested each of the three positions and recorded them all in 3 watt and 5 watt mode through an isolation cabinet.

I made a very short movie about making the mods.

You can watch and listen here:
