Great records have been made with NS-10s.

Can't understand it, they would be the PA speakers in my Hell if I were to burn down a orphanage for the insurance money,

If you don't record music that suits a Leslie - well, get hip! Seriously, gear like that should be preserved. If you don't see it as an asset in your pursuit of the muse, that's cool. Keeping an old Hammond in playable condition is a specialist job anyway but maybe you could let it live in your gara...

Again I agree and agree, however those marker pens by the nature of their green complementary color, which absorbs laser bounce, do make a difference. I didn't want to believe it either, at first. But then again all my Beatles, Stones, Bach, Ellington, NRBQ, Telemann, Marley are all so treated. List...

It will cost the price of one issue of the magazine but CMPlay is a quite good sounding software sampler for Windows . I don't know if DS-404 is still available from the same source but that had some excellent filters. It might be worth picking up a copy of Computer Music anyway (from the UK but wid...

I was always leery of the Behringer controller but I've since talked to guys who love them, even giged with them, high praise indeed.

Cheap, motorized faders and oodles of knobs.

A little off topic.

Big thumbs up to the guys from Blackstar Amplification.

The owners are great guys and gals with a wicked sense of humor (many ex-Marshall engineers) and they lovingly build really good sounding and versatile tube amps.

Much success!

In the basic premise of ignorance and sleaze, I'm in no way disagreeing with you and the marketing hokum is absurd! There's no end to ego, profit motive, and self-delusion at work here. But isn't noise reduction a worthy aim? or reduced diffraction effects in loudspeaker enclosures? Reduced jitter? ...

One more vote for the Vox AC4.

Killer tone! Awesome for backstage, bedroom, or recording. You must be a fan of the Vox sound of course, the little guy really breaks up nice without earsplitting volume at the reduced output settings.

Sure, Admittedly cables makers are among the worst of offenders for quasi-scientific ridiculous claims; but high quality conductor (OFC) metal was one good thing that we all in recording now enjoy. The topology of certain makes use identical wires for the signal carrying conductors (balanced or not)...

Clearly little wooden disks that you stick on components to 'clarify' the sound are nonsense, but give credit where it's due. That world has developed technology and processes that have 'tickled down' to pro audio. Metal dome and ribbon tweeters, for example. Cables CAN have direction depending how ...

The reason I started looking today is a wanted to re-tube a old Chandler Tube Driver I use as a DI box. Groove Tubes are good but I was looking for some NOS mojo. Anyway, a reliable, knowledgeable tube source is a real resource. A guitar player has a fine old amp, I find a vintage pre or compressor,...

I'm a huge fan of passive monitors, undoubtedly from my geeky audiophile days. I'm building my own monitors these days so - once a geek, always ... Speaking of which, The Absolute Sound and Stereophile magazines have a yearly 'best of' rating issues. They might have some suggestions in your price ra...

Monitor Audio from the UK makes amazingly revealing and musical stand-mounted passives.

Very pricey, though.

Hold on to your wallet - when you hear this quality you'll want a new power amp to feed them. And some nice cables and stands.
