Re: Coffee Consumption!!!

Until I had a kid, I never really drank coffee much. Now it's part of my morning ritual. 2 cups a day most of the time. I also get horrible caffiene withdrawal headaches. Sucks. I also drink a lot of diet cola during the day.

I am caffiene's bitch.

Absolutely brilliant! Inspired! 10! I am disturbed, yet strangely aroused.

Re: Need some new music suggestions

I have just discovered the absolute beauty of Nat King Cole's voice. Of course, that'll probably turn your stomach....... Not at all, I love listening to Jazz/Big Band/Crooner stuff when I'm in the mood. So far, my favorite of the previous suggestions has been Logh, but I've not had a chance to che...

Otari 5050 mkII 1/2" 8 track in Portland

Someone should buy this off of Craigslist so I don't feel even stupider for not having the money to buy it myself:

I'm seriously thinking about selling a kidney.

Re: organizing little random cables/connectors

Right now, they just accumulate in a drawer of one of those plastic desk cabinets from office depot: http://bret.workshed.com/dev/images/gear/DSCN3474.jpg I need a better way to deal with that, because it sucks to have to dig through it all when I need a simple adapter of some kind. I just scored a ...

Aw, happy to be of service. You know, she does sort of look like Tony Clifton:

Re: I have a headache

Fucking brilliant, say I. In fact, I might even go so far as to say I'm sporting tremendous wood, but really, not really. Well maybe a little, because I don't have much more than that to sport. Oh, nevermind. The only things I noticed about the mix were little nitpicky things: - On the second (I thi...

Re: Need some new music suggestions

Damn, I now have a ton of listening to do. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions thus far. Actually, I just heard one of Bear's mp3s on the MP3 board and am quite intrigued. Totally the kind of stuff I'm looking for.

Maybe she's light years ahead of us, sort of like Andy Kaufman, only with a more believable cover. Hell, maybe she IS Andy Kaufman.

Ashlee Simpson is the new Andy Kaufman.

We are in hell.

Re: Garageband 2, MacMini

Yeah, I think it's probably geared as more of an entry-level Mac for casual users. I can't see using that thing for anything too intenstive where you'd want the ability to upgrade it. Unfortunately for Apple, you can buy a completely outfitted PC for the $499 entry point, *and* it's more upgradable....

Need some new music suggestions

I've been listening a lot to the bands below lately and need some new music to keep me going. Suggestions are much appreciated. Stuff I've been liking: - Pinback - Sparklehorse (discovered this right here on this board) - The Shins - Mock Orange - The Postal Service I've typically been into loud ang...

Re: Garageband 2, MacMini

I like Garageband for a lot of things as well. I like the built-in software instruments quite a bit, because well, I just don't have the money or energy to learn how to use real synths. Just plug in my Keystation and it works. I've also found Garageband to be better for sketching a song out. Less la...

Garageband 2, MacMini

I know, it's garageband and all, but now they boast up to 8 live tracks and their own version of Autotune. Sounds like they are really trying to take a chunk of the DAW market: http://www.apple.com/ilife/garageband/ Oh, and the Mac Mini. Still not as cheap as a PC (no monitor), but they're getting c...

Aw, thanks everyone. The little lady keeps us happy, not to mention awake at night. The only bummer about the whole situation is that I just got me a DBX 163X off of eBay and have not had a chance to play with it yet. Can't wait to use it, but more pressing matters are at hand.
