Not so much a typo as my brain misfiring. ;)

This is the part I was talking about re: decay times. The test results that follow were part of an experiment to determine how long a decay time could be achieved in a small box. The photo below shows the setup, with a tweeter at one end and a DPA 4090 measuring microphone at the other. I measured t...

So true! We actually did some testing on this front: http://www.realtraps.com/art_surfaces.htm Looking at this, it appears the the glass surface increases high frequency delay times by 1/4 or 1/3. That seems to be significant, assuming that ratio would hold for spaces larger than your test box. Of ...

Another recommendation for Reaper here. I recently had to import tracks from an Audacity project recently and couldn't believe how difficult the program made it. Reaper is worlds beyond it in terms of capabilities and ease of use.

FS: Roland JV1080 w. Vintage Synth & Keys of the 60s boa

Next up for sale is my Roland JV1080. Sure, it's not cutting edge, but it's just the ticket when you don't want to deal with a computer for getting your synth or organ sounds. Works perfectly, but does have a bent rack ear. Price is $100 plus shipping (firm) for the jv1080 without the cards, $250 pl...

FS:Oktava ML52 ribbon mic w.Lundahl, piece of TapeOp history

Up for sale is my Oktava ML52 with the Lundahl transformer. This mic was the model for the tape op article about the mod. I sent it off to the author (who had already done the mod on his mic), and he modded my mic and made photos for the article.

Price is $300 plus shipping, firm.

More guts, huh?

I'll bet those things have some crappy pots in them. try bypassing the volume and tone and wiring the stock pickup straight to the jacks, I'll bet it will help.

I find bassists who play finger-style (yes I know most bassists use their fingers, I mean versus using a pick) often have this problem. I've use multiband compression to address it. Also, I think that rolling off some sub-bass helps. Talking about classic albums, wouldn't it be true that things reco...
