I wouldn't bother with the voltage regulator unless your power utility has frequent problems with brownouts/fluctuations in voltage. Even then, I'd spend money on a UPS before I'd buy a voltage regulator. Just my two cents...

The 112 is 2-head, has no vari-speed and has RCA and 1/4 inch ins and RCA outs. I love mine; it's built like a tank and requires no maintenance.

+1 on the VLA and FMR. And if you can't admit on the TapeOp forum that you also like your Behringer MDX2600, where can you admit it? Not that I'm admitting that I have one or that I like it...

Panning reverbs...

I've been playing around with returning all my reverbs (mostly springs) in mono dead up the centre and have been kind of digging the feel it gives some mixes. It seems to make hard-panned instruments a bit less muddy and lends a sort of vintage sound to the mixes. I'm just curious about other people...

I've got the ART and I'm quite happy with it. I find it very versatile between the selectable plate voltage and input impedance, and I like the way it makes all my (cheap) mics sound. And I like that it's rack mountable as it gives me one more opportunity to use the word "rack" in a sentence.

De-esser recommendations?

Hullo all! I'm looking for a cheap hardware de-esser (rackmount preferred) and am wondering if anyone can recommend anything. If not, maybe someone can recommend a good plastic surgeon in the Lunenburg area who could make me less spitty...

I own a Tascam 112MKII and the thing's built like a tank. I don't know how it compares to some other high-end units, but you can use it day-in, day-out with consistent results and no fear of break-downs.
