I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Charlie Stringer vari-tone pedal. I think they call it the "Very-Tone Dog" or something like that I'm gunna seriously look into this bad boy... Based on my cursory googling, they're in the $60 to $70 price range... Given the level of love evidenced here, I'm gun...

I had no idea there was so much enthusiasm for pedals... Guess I shoulda known! I trawled up to my local GC today for Black Friday to try out pedals and hopefully buy, and this is what I came away with, in regards to distortion, anyway... I was underwhelmed with the BOSS stuff. Sounded like buzzy be...

Pedals that're good but not really pricey
Kinda the opposite post from the multi-pedals that don't suck thread. I'm in the opposite sitch. I have an older Zoom multi-effects thingee that I just don't like, and I wanna get into pedals. Never have before. I want reverb (or a slap echo), a good crunchy distortion (not fuzzy), and some compress...

I love Ableton Live ... it's very intuitive I wanna believe this... Heck, I wanna use Live... In fact, I have a copy on my computer, and I've even gone through the included tutorial, but I just can't get my brain around it, and I've been using all sort of softwares for almost 20 years, and consider...

Atypically, I find myself slathering cheese wiz on the bass drum shell, then wrapping the overheads in banana peels. I set the air conditioner to 32 degrees, then pull up the carpet in the drum room until the corners are touching the cymbal stands. I find this adds "slemth". After praying to the fou...

I bet they sound a lot better than you think they do. I'm sure this is the case. You're probably experiencing a naked-in-public panic. I'm consistently surprised by how my perceptions of my own stuff are meaningless besides how much people have enjoyed my music. That is to say, stuff of mine that I...
