fixed a flanking problem and re-squared the control room in our new b room, did a bunch of ceiling blocking for the crazy as fuck barrel roll ceilings in the new bunker, worked on the box for the live room until we ran out of wood, put together a small lumber order for the stuff we need to tie up lo...

some singers have weird shit in their voices that they aren't aware of until they are recorded... i agree that double 160 might be a bit much on the way in, but i would record a bit of her with no compression, and see if you hear the same artifacts... might be a case of wrong mic/wrong pre for the v...

the pro's are doing it for money, the friends are doing it for being awesome.

put some new photos up just now of A control room... today the ceiling gets finished, and then we move on to putting all the perimeter walls for A live up.

i almost always use the oktavas, but on a session last week (in between construction days) i used a beyer m88 on floor tom and it was amazing. i want to get another one and try them on toms... definitely more of a 70's vibe than the oktavas. and super tight rejection.

our day rate is solid, at $600/day, but sometimes we'll cut a discount for multiday sessions, or long time loyal clients, etc... we charge a slightly higher hourly rate of $75/hr, but do very very few hourly sessions.
