I thought about going passive in order to save a few bucks. I ended up going active because I think a biamplified monitor (separate amps powering the woofer and the tweeter) results in better sound quality all other things being equal. So I would have needed 2 amps. And to get a high enough quality ...

Interesting thread. As a guitarist I find I have a lot of trouble playing to a click track. I always assumed it was because my timing was poor. But I have no problem when playing with a drummer... :shock:

A good DVD for absolute beginners is Tomy Igoe's "Getting Started On Drums" which you can get from Amazon.com.
