ELP,ELO Yeah, definitely those. Something to make Phish-haters angry: I saw an interview with the Phish guitarist a few years ago where he said that they originally set out to play prog and over time they kind of just veered off into jamming-based music. It kind of makes sense if you have ever hear...

Re: Refused -shape of punk to come

A few years ago I read in an interview with one of the guitarists that it was done in Pro Tools. The interview also said that they had to punch in every syllable that the singer sang and then they spent hours re-editing the vox. What's the point of even singing or attempting to be a musician then? ...

Damn, that shit is tight. I like it. Nice punchy bass on "3". The drums and bass sound really great on all of the songs. Great musicianship here. I like the time changes. It makes me want to play in a band again. I'm tired of playing with myself (don't quote that) ... the feel of live music d...

Jamiroquai

I don't know much about them. All I know is that I like their music. The singer has an awesome voice, and the bassist is very on point. Not that they are pushing the envelope in terms of "new" in the creative music department. They basically riff on a 70s funk/soul formula...but it sounds good.

No. You're thinking of Spinal Tap's cover of Soundgarden's song. :D

I can't believe you don't like Queen. No wait. Yes, I can. You don't like handlebar moustaches. That's got to be it.

I feel very sorry for DLR. Massive Roth era VH fan here, and his behaviour earnestly saddens me. Man needs mood stabilizers or something. Of course his behaviour in VH was far superior: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BKTc9VaNIiI I like the blugrass version of Jump better than the original. I've see...

From that cover, it looks cheesy as hell. I'll probably like it. Riff madness, you say. Thick, distinct bass. Hmmm....

Isn't that band name from a LoTRs villain?

I can hear it. It hurts my ears. And I have some significant hearing loss, mind you. I have tinnitus. If it's totally quiet, I always hear ringing. So, I sleep with a fan on to create white noise that drowns out the ringing. I should have worn earplugs when I was younger.

I agree. I love that song, "Teacher". Those high notes he hits just kill me.

The suggestion to have George Michael be the new singer of Queen (or whatever you want to call them) is a good idea. He's got an excellent range and great voice. I'd much rather hear him than the Bad Company guy. I also think Lancebug has a point. Ultimately, none of this really matters. In 10 years...

Ok. I might get abused for this, but I actually liked most of "Van Halen, III", if that is what you mean. Haven't listened to it in years, and yes it is probably entirely disposable, but I remember thinking it was pretty cool when it first came out. -Darrill Well, I won't abuse you for liking VH II...
