Why not try a simpler setup? AT4040 as mono OH, i5 on snare, your other AT on kick, done. Or, if you want to go really simple, just stick the AT4040 somewhere out front and call it a day.

Thanks for the kind words! The noise is just amp hiss?in the past I have put down a layer of static, but the buzz from the amp was enough this time around. The vocals are a combination of screaming into a ribbon mic and digital distortion.

I'm coming near the completion of a raw black metal album, and so I thought I'd post a mix and see if anyone had comments/critiques. thanks for your replies! a friend will be doing the artwork, so i won't be relying on their design department. i'll also be printing the packaging myself. my main concerns are the price and quality of the cds themselves. it seems like all of the options mentioned are good. i'll request some quotes.
