Re: College Radio Stations
Juno, very good words of advice. I am a dj here at the university of nebraska, KRNU. While I am NOT a music director, I am always amazed by the immense amount of music and promo's they recieve. The crazy thing I find is that our directors always get in most of the listening to the cd's. We usually a...

Protools Equiptment but no Software...AHHHH Help!
I have searched far and wide for the solution to this problem. I have contacted digidesign and they referred me to their website, but their website referred me back to them, so I'm going in these circles and thought I would ask the masters of recording knowledge at the always referenceable Tapeop me...

Re: CAD Microphones
The m177 is the single pickup pattern version of the m179. They're very usable for vocals although THEY have an odd high frequency response that can make them sound harsh. I haven't figured out where exactly it is, but for me, it seems to be there at times. Despite this, i recorded a 7 track harmony...

Re: best CD-R for ink?
I like the Tayo Yuden discs. I have been printing on their cds with a stamp I bought from a merchant on the internet. I found that you must be VERY careful not to put too much ink on. The ink will stick, but if you put it on too thick, you will have a problem with the ink crumbling off on itself. Kn...

USB+MIDI=???? TELL ME I'M NOT CRAZY!!!
Okay, I work at a locally owned pro audio store in the midwest. I'm 21 years old, and deal mostly with customers who are younger (18-28) and are looking into getting into home recording. Today I had a kid who came in and asked me if I had a "USB to Midi" cable for hooking up his keyboard to his comp...

Re: Does anyone else think this way...
I go to Saddle Creek shows in Omaha where the crowd will pay no attention whatsoever to the opening bands. I feel bad, cause when I saw Arab Strap they were awsome, but there were tons of indie kids screaming and talking about...well...i don't know, but it pissed me off. Anyways, Cursive is awsome. ...

RE: Beck RE: "If the music changes, then it's okay to disapprove of it." I find this a bit disturbing. Don't tell Neil Young, David Bowie or DJ Shadow this... Okay, I did say it wrong. I meant if the music changes for the worst (in your mind), then it is okay for you to disapprove of it. My bad.

Re: Does anyone else think this way...
You're not snobby at all. If the music changes, then it's okay to disapprove of it. I mean, not that we can have a say for what is good for the band, but it's our choice not to listen to them. I'm in the snob kingdom of Lincoln/Omaha Nebraska and I just found out a great indie band Rilo Kiley just l...

Re: DBX products
I find that the 2-series DBX products are of poor quality. I do, however, enjoy the 1-series. My favorite little DBX secret is the minimalistic dbx 163A. It may only have a level set and a tone arm, but I think it's a wonderful little piece. Then again, I'm wrong a lot. Ian
