i am not a huge fan of turning the drive on VW more than 4ish. in fact my favorite setting for that plug in is everything set to zero and just a HAIR of drive.

cad e300 about a foot from the kick in figure 8 with some dampening behind it.

doesn't work great for dense rock music, not enough punch.

computer emulation of hardware is going to get better and better, and the market for esoteric outboard is just going to get smaller and smaller.

dont forget to see if there are any peavy 520i for sale. i got mine for $40 shipped. perfectly good kick mic. its a bit more leaning to the dry punch kick mic like an re20 instead of that punchBOOM thing that the 112 does.
