If you want to stay at or below $600, I would look at a used Fender Deluxe Reverb RI and then replace the speaker. If you're lucky you might be able to find a Vox Ac15 for under $600. Mesa Blue Angels (again I would replace the speaker) are very cool too (unless you're wanting an amp for metal).

First off is the sound coming out of your amp sounding like you want it to? If it does, then I would first suggest decoupling the amp from the ground. I've worked in about 7-10 different studios, from the WaveLab in Tucson to Studio Mariposa in Seattle.

I stopped reading Mix when I opened up a copy and it had a 2-3 page article on a golf tournament that some engineers had attended. I thought that was pretty useless in my world of audio.

How about the Soundelux E47? You should be able to find a dealer that will sell you one for around $3k. I saw one on ebay a couple weeks ago for $2.5k.
