I've been reading some horror stories on the TC Electronic mid to low range units having dodgy power supplies. Though the silver lining on that is that you might be able to buy a "broken" $2000 TC reverb for cheap and fix it? I'm looking for a verb too. I think my crappy synth playing would sound wa...

I guess I got a bit of sour grapes going on.
I am just pissed because previously uncool obscure gear is now the new vintage.
Hands off my Moog MG1!

There are two kind of musicians that use unusual gear. There are the ones that are doing it because they have adventurous tastes. Then there are the ones that are just hopping on the latest trend. Some folks are not satisfied with how their gear sounds, because it doesn't give them the soudns they h...

I was at an art show last year and a band was setting up. My sister asked if I wanted to hang around for the band. I said, based on the gear they had, no. My sister said I was crazy to think I could judge what a band was going to sound like based on their gear. I said, well, Kaos pads and MicroKorgs...

I did that for a while with a very similar model of Tascam. I actually had the manual for your model but actually had the next model over. I used to use a Mackie 1202 then a Ramsa WRS8112. http://www.lawsounds.com/Ramsa_WR-8112.jpeg They dont have the most brilliant high end response, but they are f...

I've always like A&H, even if they are the Peavey of Britain.
When I was doing a lot of SR work I was always much happier with an A&H board than a Mackie (or Peavey!). Above that I would prefer a soundcraft, but then A&H is kind of better than the cheaper soundcraft.

ack, I went to the "New" GC on friday. They didnt really have any new reverb-multieffects (aside from Behringer). Did everyone quit using reverb? I did find a Lexicon MPC450 (550?) or something. But the hair monkeys couldnt find a bit to engage the security bolts they racked it with. I asked the hai...

I've been seeing the ISA one on sale for under $500 for a while now. You can also pick up the 2ba221 for about $500 used, I got mine as "open box" for 500. The Sytek 4 bangers USED to go for about $500 but everyone neved the prices of those up. Though you can still find one occasionally close to tha...

Most mics I ever had with a battery were just fine on phantom. Never noticed a hot battery. I always left the battery in there as a "just in case" thing. Like in case the phantom somehow gave out, or I ended up having to work with a mixer that only had global phantom. I know phantom is supposed to b...
