RodC, tell me more about the shunt resistor. Across the secondary taps on the input? to ground? both? The impedance seems to be ok without the transformer but anyone please expand. .

yeah I was thinking of doing that. I actually hooked up a 1:10 jensen input transformer I had from annother project but it was way too hot. the amp has gain for days even when you go straight into the unbalanced mic input with a mic. use a lower ratio transformer to make it balanced?

Im having a similar problem with an AM station showing up in a TAC scorpion. The rf does not show up when using external pres. It is only present when using the TAC pres. Bad grounding in the TAC? any suggestions?

what do yall consider acceptable leakage? Id rather not recap something if I dont need to. Even new electros show leakage at the 20M setting. . .

The exact same thing happened to my R8. the wheel that drives the belt for the rewind motor was walking forward off of the shaft untill it either fell off or was just turning without catching. If you open the machine up and push the wheel back on if its loose/off then that may solve the problem. You...

Hi im wanting to build an enclosure for a speaker I pulled from a fender rhodes suitcase. Its a 12 inch from the 70s. The speaker has no markings except for a number, 12t6-11c. Does anyone know what type of speaker this may be eqivilent to these days so I can look up the specs? thanks Max

anyone ever done this with 2 fostex reel to reels? and if so how? can you simply use a MTC box or is it more involved? I assume you would need to stripe time code on both tapes etc.
