it's a tie between Rusty Allen playing on Sly Stones "Loose Booty" and James Jamerson on just about anything...if i had to choose id say "I was Made to love her" or "Whats Going on" shit..but then theres Bootsy on "sex machine" and Lucky Scott" on Curtis mayfields Freddies Dead ...and he just kills ...

i can attest that san diego pretty much blows. i cant think of one group that i like. unfortunately there is a bunch of really bad acid jazz bands gigging. crap. the jazz scene is pretty hit or miss ..mostly miss but whith an occasion gem if you get the right guys on the right gig. i saw a herbie ha...

here is what i am being offered in addition to the negotiated liscensing fee... ALL artists are being offered the same terms on a "most favored nations basis" for this specific project and there are approx. 5-9 artists per show. ASCAP/BMI royalties are provided via the network for these affiliations...

Another one I've always loved is "The Quest" with Mal Waldron on piano, Eric Dolphy doing beautiful things on clarinet, Ron Carter playing cello, Booker Ervin on sax. The atmosphere is so heavy and so delicate all at the same time. oh man..how did i forget eric dolphy. last date is one of my favori...
