Wow....

+1 on the posting...cool stuff!

I'm always intrigued by wire recording in general but Woody Guthrie makes it all the more interesting.

For great bug spray cymbals, don't even bother with the stuff you find on the shelves nowadays. See if you can find some of the original Black Flag or OFF! from the seventies...that's the shit to get and if you watch your local listings, you'll find a lot of that stuff at estate sales and whatnot......

I've got a 000M that I just love. I played pretty much all of the acoustic guitars between $500 and $1200 in an afternoon at Wade's , and that was the guitar for me. Yes, we are here to make choosing more complicated! Andy Andy... What it is! Gotta love spending the day at Wade's man! That dude get...

Thanks again for all the help. The more I look the more options I seem presented with. couple more questions: 1. should I go for something with a pickup system already installed (i see some martins are offered with this) 2. are the mexican made martins totally inferior to their american counterpart...

Re: Barry White: Never, Never Gonna Give You Up WHO PLAYED B

And Drums on this stuff? Where was it recorded? Heard it this morning, this shit grooves!!! I can't answer this question... However, I CAN offer up a most sincere, heartfelt "WORD!" to the sentiment. For my fellow Wiconsin-ites, this means I "heartily agree" or that the fella on the bass guitar rea...

I second the D-15.

The entire "15" line are great sounding guitars for little money comparatively. I'm not big on the D size, but I have a 000-15 and a 000-15S that I love. A friend of mine has a D-15 and that guitar is what turned me on to them. Great bang for the buck!

Man... I'm loving that CMV. Garges just sent me some drums utilizing a pair of those in the "Glyn Johns" array and I was blown away....you, sir, are just rubbing it in! The D119 actually sounded cooler than I thought it would for some reason.....interestingly old school. Those were my favorit...

Chris G has done some drum work for me recently using Oktavas, and by that measure, the Oktavas really do sound great....even in the kitchen and bathroom  . Bwaa-ha-ha-ha-ha! Yesssssss! I may have a line on an MC012 relatively cheap. If it's in decent shape, maybe I'll just stick it on your n...

Might I add that Scott Dorsey is a super cool guy as well....nice, nice man, that Mr. Dorsey. On topic, I have never tried the Oktava MC012s but I own and love an SM81. I don't think I could get rid of it....it just does what it does and it's really more flexible than some give it credit for. Chris ...

Ha!

This is awesome.

What a great video....loved the solder break! How utterly geeky that I particularly loved the solder break. That's just the kind of thing where you have to live it to get it. Yep.

I haven't tried the GT mics but, for your budget and what you want to do, I'd personally recommend a used AT4047. I get a ton of mileage out of mine doing acoustic instruments and it does a really good job on vocals as well. The pad makes it very versatile and engaging/disengaging it can give you a ...

I have gotten those in 2 different scenarios.... 1) A hard drive developing bad sectors....I'd back up anything you want to keep asap and reformat because it only gets worse. 2) This will sound odd but it was really an issue on the Alesis help board a while back and did happen to me: Recording reall...

Right...no way. Most folks in the know tend to stay away from anything Torres related. I have not tried their stuff but only because too many folks I know and trust have been very disappointed.

Just my 2 pennies.
