Re: My first major label project!...What a mess (long)
thanks for the advice. one thing that might seem unclear from my original post, is he is already sure the label wants nothing to do with him. if he took the 50% he is quite confident his record would be shelved. not to mention the two people on the inside that were all for him got fired...his only f...

My first major label project!...What a mess (long)
This is nuts. I will try to explain this. I have a friend of many years who was signed to the big leagues about 3 years ago. He did his first record with a pretty hot shot L.A. guy, and Bob Clearmountain mixed it. The record took 10 months and was a chopped up pro tools symphony. The record came out...

Re: budget kick drum mic
i just picked up an audio technica atm-25 for kick ($97 used) and it rules..prior to that i was using an re20 which costs 3x the money, and the atm25 has the same punch but with better clarity.

Re: who here has experience as a touring soundperson?
no, i threw in the towel a little over a year ago. by that point i was tour managing and only doing sound when i felt the house guy could not accurately follow my directions. if your friend is doing it with real acts (ie. people making money...which is technically fake bullshit, because the greats w...

Re: who here has experience as a touring soundperson?
if you have not traveled and seen the country/ world....do it! the actual process of hanging in clubs and doing sound gets old, but traveling is an experience that will broaden your horizons and make you a better human being.
