Auto Talent VST- help wanted
I recently downloaded Oli Larkin's Auto Talent VST plugin for Windows. Now that I've got it, I sure wish I could make it work for my needs. I don't want to make anybody sound like T-Pain and Cher's love child. I just want to gently guide some vocals back on pitch. I admit I've never used a pitch cor...

I've been trying out a few things, and here's what I've found so far. I- I tried a factory reset. Nothing. No go diggie die. 2- The stereo ping-pong delays still work like they should, but the reverbs are where the problem seems to lie. 3- Changing the battery would help keep the presets intact, but...

Digitech S100 (partially) dead- HELP!
I recently fired up my Digitech S100 effects unit after a few years of non-use. It works- kind of. About half of the effects only output to the left side. And yes, I've checked my cables, before you ask. What I don't understand is how some effects could get messed up while others output to stereo. I...

Never mind. I drove for about an hour through a thunderstorm and hailstorm, using up a quarter tank of gas, only to find out he had sold it five minutes before, even though he knew I was coming. What an ass hat. I found out yesterday that there was a tornado warning in the area where I was driving, ...

Hill mixers
So I have a chance to buy a Hill SDMix 16x4x2 mixer for $175. I can't find anything online about it. Did they only make one of them? Does anybody else know anything about these, or Hills in general? It looks like it's from the eighties. Any information would be a big help. Thanks!

I sent the client an email last night telling her that we'd need to edit orhaveeverythingsoundlikethiswhichisaverybadidea. She told me that the 90 second length is fine, so crisis averted. But thanks for the reply. And I did find a workaround for Cubase, so life is good again. But while we're on the...

Time squeezing plug-ins
Hi. I'm in the middle of doing some voiceover work for a client. I just found that my time compression effect in Cubase isn't working like it should, so I need to get something else. What I'm trying to do is compress a .wav file down to a set time length, like turning a 90 second voiceover into a 60...

only problem I had was a Mac hard drive die with years of the only copies of my own stuff on it..not very creative but I tried diskwarrior and was able to save 99% of it..now I keep 3 backups of everything.. That's some of the best advice anyone could ever give to someone doing computer recording. ...

For the same loot (or a tad less) grab an Adcom 535. Best bang for buck amp I've used by far. Unbalanced in.... but so what? Keep your cable length short & use good cable. It will be an eye/ear opener. Rack ears are still available too. Wow... I'd never thought of Adcom! I just looked it up. It wou...

Don't do it. Amp technology has come a long ways. Crown amps were built for PA work. Hafler, Adcom, Parasound, would sound better and frankly the QSC is a fine sounding amp. You know... the more I think about it, the more I think you're right. The fan noise isn't awful from my QSC (I turn off while...

The prices arent bad. I have however, seen loads of stuff on ebay or cl that "used to belong to the Dead" or some metal band or the best, a "guitar signed by the drummer of...". It certainly seems some folks will do anything to milk the value. I've always had good experiences with DC300's. I am cur...

I think Crowns sound great, but they of course usually need to be recapped if they arent sounding up to it. I would NEVER buy a piece of gear merely because of its possible provnenance. It isnt going to sound better because some particular artist used it. Unless they had it modified from stock it r...
