UAD 3 Plugins Pack - Which would you choose?

Hey everyone, I just got a new Universal Audio interface with 3 Plugins I could choose from. Just curious what you would get if you could only pick 3? So far I'm thinking: - SPL Transient Designer (heard this can do killer things on drums) - Neve 1073 Pre & EQ collection - Ocean Way Studios reverb c...

Re: XLR Patch panel - to build or buy premade?

Thanks everyone. Redco's panel designer and their prices seem to be the way to go for me.

XLR Patch panel - to build or buy premade?

I'm looking for a 16-channel XLR patch panel (1U, mic in) and was figuring I would just build it myself. I was looking at starting with https://www.parts-express.com/neutrik-nc3fd-l-1-d-series-panel-mount-xlr-connector-female-nickel--092-036 and https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PNLUNIKO--gato...

Re: Cheap but good headphone amp recommendations

If it's just the drummer who wants a different mix and the rest of you are fine with the same mix, and you're on a budget, why not save yourself the money for now and just get a long headphone extension and run it from one of the line outs or an aux/bus channel? I'm not familiar with your mixer but ...

Re: Click tracks. Love them/Hate them.

As a drummer who plays to a click both live and in studio as a result of playing along with electronic elements such as synth arpeggiations or backing tracks, I'm pretty much used to it. Early on it would drive me a little crazy but what's weird is I've gotten so used to it that I kind of tune it ou...

Re: Speeding up a song after tracking without altering pitch

Thanks for all the helpful answers everyone! I tried various settings using the elastic audio feature and even after rendering with best settings, there was still something a bit robotic to his voice, unfortunately. The 3 bpm difference might seem minor but it really kind of picked the song up. But ...

Speeding up a song after tracking without altering pitch

Hi there, I just did a session with a client who now wishes to speed the song up just a hair, without altering the key. It was at 87 bpm and now he would like to try 90 bpm. I know a quick way of doing this in Ableton Live using the warp tool, but when I tried it, it made the vocals sound a bit robo...

Patchbay Question - Where to connect ground wire?

Hi there, sorry for the somewhat noob-like question... But I bought a pre-wired balanced TRS patchbay with snake off eBay awhile back and it came with no documentation. The basic wiring part was easy though, I'm familiar with all that. But there is this little green wire connected to the chassis wit...

hahahaha.

ON TOPIC: chad smith has the worst fucking snare sound EVER.
I'm not really a fan of RHCP or his style of drumming, but I would have to disagree based on their album "I'm With You" produced by Rick Rubin. Very tasty snare sounds across that record.

Re: Reverb Help

Audio thing outer space is worth checking out. Killer space echo emulation (with spring reverb ) If I was to grab another delay it'd be the Echoboy. It also emulates the Space Echo along with several other vintage gear. Plus, it's 50% off for the next week. The Echoboy Jr is only $29, but without m...

Re: Reverb Help

I own all the Valhalla verbs and I love them equally. Vintage Verb is especially awesome. I also love Shimmer especially on guitars or strings playing open chords or notes... The tail is incredibly musical and unique. Other than that I use ST Little Plate pretty religiously on almost everything. Sim...

That's a shame. I've heard him talk about his craft with such infectious and earnest passion. Although I'm not always a fan of the music he produces, I still think he's one of the coolest people in the biz.

Hope he gets well soon.

Looks like an animatronic puppet on the fritz. I kinda love it.

And this is great, too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxebUpRgdKc

Two drummer cymbal solo at 2:00. Ridiculous.

Ah, God bless the USA.
