Sounds like the sample rate of your audio card is set incorrectly.

Re: Anybody know about syncing a drum machine to Pro Tools?

MMC isn't sync - it's just midi messages that tell a device when to start, stop, etc. but does not send timing information of any sort. Find out if the Electribe can use MTC (midi timecode) or MBC (midi beat clock) for sync, then follow these instructions... For MBC - Go to the MIDI menu in PT and c...

Re: anyone worked with Cravedog?

We *almost* used Cravedog for our last release, but had already started it with GoldenROM before we got enough info on Cravedog.

Rich at GoldenROM (they're on the East Coast) was great to work with - they totally accommodated our nitpicky-ness and were on time with everything.

Re: what's so cool about those Eventides?

These were mind-melting wonder boxes, and still are. The string modeler was a treat in itself. The harmonizing sounds fantastic and all the other fx were really, really sweet. I still think it has some of the best sound phasers/flangers available.

Support 'Free Trade'?

What does this mean, exactly? (from http://www.freetradeusa.org/fastaction/index.aspx?vndrno=11&adno=54) Dear [Elected Official's Name]: Free trade is a vital contributor to America"s economic growth and sustainability. Thanks to free trade, Americans enjoy one of the healthiest economies and most p...

Re: Thoughts on 'Social Security Reform'

As a comparison - U.S. per capita spending on healthcare is over 30% more than ANY other country, even those with free public healthcare. Yet we still have the largest number of people that have no health care of any sort. Also - more than half of all bankruptcies were filed due to health care costs...

Re: cpu recording question!

You're going to need 24 in/out for sure - you won't be able to find a system that does continuous re-sync to timecode for under $2k (at least none that I'm aware of..). Are you on Mac or PC? Getting 24 channels of A/D convertors for under 2k is going to be tough. You can use up to 4 2408 interfaces ...

Re: how to set up a mailing list for a band?

You should look at Lyris ListManager - it's fucking brilliant. It's not cheap, though - packages start at about $650 for 3 sites, though you may be able to work out a better price for only 1 site. www.lyris.com You could also try Topica email manager - anything worthwhile starts at about $50/mo. Som...

That's Kim's Mondo - don't confuse that with Kim's Underground or Kim's West.

I should have asked - are you looking for vinyl or cd's?

Sorry - there's a ton of great stores and it's easier to narrow down what you're looking for...

Yeah, something like 50% of adult males and 35% of adult females over 18 NEVER read books. ever.

That's sad.

Re: Thoughts on 'Social Security Reform'

I think I'm for private accounts AS LONG AS we are able to decide if, when and where the money can be invested. The boys are Wall St. are probably slavering over this - just think of all the money they will now have to play with! The one thing that I don't like about 'private accounts' are the fees ...
