Re: make up some generic indie band names

drmorbius,

I think all the bands you mentioned are already in the Elephant 6 collective.

The best real indie band name I've ever seen is The Cartridge Family.

make up some generic indie band names

I like to come up with fictitious indie rock band names. Here are some of the ones I've come up with so far:

Chinese Buffet
Statistical Tie
Hepatitis A
Hepatitis C
Ferret Orphan
The John Ashcrofts

Okay. Your turn.

Maybe 'despise' would be a better term. :D

Re: President Dennis Hastert?

What is your definition of 'neoconservatism' and who do you consider to be a neo-con? From anything that I've ever read, neocons have been distinguished from traditional conservatives by their desire to build up military might, confront potential threats directly, build nations, and impose democracy...

Re: 25% of population ready to be led into fascist dictators

there's enough tv programs, sports teams and video games in this country to worry about any sort of insurgency.

Re: 25% of population ready to be led into fascist dictators

It's easy for whites to say 'why dont you get a job or go to college' and things like that. If you're a minority that grows up in a bad neighborhood there are so many negative forces operating around you it's extremely tough to make it out. Most family situations are not good. If you want to have fr...

Re: President Dennis Hastert?

Majority of voters has never been an election criteria. We've always had indirect elections here, which have worked out that each state has a popular vote then appoints electoral college members to vote to reflect the intentions of the people of that state. A direct vote is even more impractical no...

Re: President Dennis Hastert?

god, that'd be great if there was an electoral vote tie with Kerry winning the popular vote but with the House choosing Bush/Cheney. Please, God, please let it happen.

What's up with complaining about federal regulations? When's the last time a federal regulation got in your way? Unless you're trying to pollute the environment, scam investors, fly sub-par airplanes, etc... The only federal regulation that bugs me is the marijuana policy. State regulations are ano...

Re: 25% of population ready to be led into fascist dictators

I knew I could troll you in there. :D I agree completely with reducing the role of the federal government. There's lots of waste & beauracracy out there. 70,000+ regulations on the books, etc. Education is a complicated matter, though. Accountability of schools is one thing. As long as it's all rela...

Re: 25% of population ready to be led into fascist dictators

Noting that the dumbest portion of the country seems to trend Republican, it seems clear to me now that the Repub's desire to cut public education spending is really just an attempt to breed future generations of republicans! Brilliant, if I must say. So, to all the liberals who said that vouchers w...

25% of population ready to be led into fascist dictatorship

55% of of Bush supporters assume the 9/11 commission concluded that Iraq was providing support for Al Qaeda. 57% of Bush supporters think the Duelfer report concluded that Iraq had WMD............ This isn't even a matter of faith. It's the results printed in documents and reported in the news. That...

Re: cleaning up a mixer

i just used toilet paper. No water. :) The board is from the late 80s/early 90s probably. I screwed it back together. I didn't disconnect any wires or anything. The faders & pots are loose pieces rather than being wired into the board. They have little prongs on the bottoms that contact the circuit ...
