My band had a recent 7" that the label had cut at Aardvark. It came out great!

But, the words "retard" and "retarded" still have completely acceptable and non-offensive uses. That's so gay. That's my point. It's the context that makes those words offensive, not the words themselves. If we're having a discussion about the offensive use of the word "gay", I'm not likely to refe...

The filmmakers clearly have an agenda and are pushing their view, but they do present some evidence. Some of that evidence doesn't really support their position, like the 100 year bulb which puts out hardly any light. So their bringing that up is a little underhanded. But it doesn't make their over...

Whether this applies to personal computers or not is beside the point, at least as far as I'm concerned... it does tie in with the OP's complaint, though. I'm guessing that the move to Intel chips was not a nefarious plot to force this guy to buy a new computer just so he could use Waves. His situa...

But, the words "retard" and "retarded" still have completely acceptable and non-offensive uses. So, I think it's a little insulting to me, as an adult, to be expected to refer to them as "the R word". Not really. "Retard" is a verb, used in music to connote slowing tempo. It is not used much in mod...

It's often the case that things are designed to crap out after a certain amount of time these days. Deliberately designed that way when they could just as easily and cheaply last longer. There's no conspiracy involved, or necessary, just decisions made by individual companies. I guess it just becom...

First of all, I said easily upgradable (though not in the sentence you quoted). I don't know how to replace a motherboard. Then what do you suppose someone like you should do when your motherboard has been replaced by better, smaller, more powerful technology? And when I do eventually get a new com...

Yeah, I edited it to acknowledge the crosspost.

I love how you guys keep saying, "this is not a conspiracy" when I never said it was a conspiracy. Maybe you didn't. But, you've gone out of your way to make us all feel like we're suckers who've fallen "into a trap" and been swindled by advertisers. And, though that might make you feel better abou...

**edit** GooberNumber9 said most of what I'm about to say in a crosspost. There's no reason computers can't be made to be easily upgradable and last for more than 20 years, other than it means less profit for the manufacturers. well, it would also stifle technological advancement... I'd spend more o...

You should be able to press 300 copies of 7" vinyl, in white paper sleeves, including lacquers and metal parts, for around $600. United Record Pressing seems to have the best prices I've found. I usually do lacquers with Chicago Mastering Service and metal parts with Mastercraft. When you factor in ...

This is very interesting. However, I'm not going to refer to the words "retard" or "retarded" as "The R Word".... To me, this seems ridiculous. I understand that the term can be and has been used pejoratively. But, the difference between "retard" and "The N word" is that both before and after the co...

The only versions of Waves software listed on their website as explicitly compatible with a PPC Mac are versions 7 and older. Did you purchase a new copy of Waves v7?? I didn't realize that Waves still sold those versions as new.
