I have lots of gear that has bent pots and it usually means almost nothing to me as long as it still turns and stays in place. If I had a piece that said Neve on it somewhere I would probably not be the happiest about it, but so long as it worked, I would probably keep it.

I love my SM7 on my Leslie cabinet. I can crank the organ and the SM7 just stands there and says, "ooohhhh yeahhhhh". i use it on kick drum too sometimes. and vocals, and sometimes acoustic guitar.

I have not used the PR30, but would like to sometime.

I bought a Sony portable right after high school graduation in 2001. I was going to Australia for two weeks, and the fact that you could fit 3-4 CDs worth of music on each disc was very appealing to me. I cashed in about 200 bucks in change and bought a 6-pack of MDs and the walkman. Then spent the ...

Anyone use there Iphone, Itouch for a transport? I know there is a few apps out there. I have TouchOSC on my iPhone, and OSCulator on my laptop. I use Logic Pro 9 and I have a template saved that I have been working with off-and-on for the last couple weeks. So far, I have eight faders and mute but...

I don't know if you've found the Logic Pro Help forums, but they are a great source of info and a good group of people. Plus the guy who runs the board WROTE THE BOOK on using Logic. Here is a thread from the Tips and Tricks section that might help you: http://logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=32201 ...

I like all the suggestions so far as far as re-amping, playing tracks to empty rooms, etc. And the best part is that aspect of it is way more fun than using a plugin. That said, I use the reverb plugins in Logic a fair amount and like them. But my bathroom is my favorite. My parent's have a tile sho...

You should just be able to get a MIDI interface that goes into the laptop USB port. I use a M-Audio MIDISport Uno, which is just a 1-in, 1-out MIDI cable attached to a USB cable. You should be able to use any MIDI/USB interface though.

I like a lot of Yamaha stuff, and currently have a Tenori-On, and an old RM800 24-channel mixer that I like, but is too big for most of what I do. But the EQ and preamps are very usable, so sometimes I will use the 8 xlr ins to mic a drumset and guitar amp or something. And I use it for mixing out o...

another vote for an SM7. It needs a decent amount of gain, but it sounds righteous on anything you get close to it. EQ to taste. Voice of gods. I use it on guitar amps, kick drum on the front head, snare sometimes, acoustic guitar, and pretty much without too much fuss, it sounds great. Or an Electr...

yeah, it's definitely a monome. I really like the way she makes music, the way she utilizes new tech like monome and iphone apps like RJDJ; and all the interviews I've heard or read or watched have been really good, but I can't seem to find too many songs of hers that I actually like to listen to. I go back and forth between Deloused and Francis the Mute being my favorite full albums, but I like some single songs on Amputechture as much as anything they've ever done. I have a few Omar solo albums as well, and I really like them a lot. Some of them have moments that just sound like outtakes fr...

I like it a lot, but it took more than one listen. It's dense like all the other records, but maybe not as rocking as the other albums, but still really good.

A co-worker of mine can't stand it, he says it sounds like it's always about to pick up into something but never does.
