Re: How can I fix this mix? Please help

Hey misturpurfekt, thanks for the kind review the only thing that i'm noticing right away is the pinginess of the acoustic guitars, they sound maybe slightly 'D.I.' or something... and some of the pads have a bit of a wierd shimmering high frequency thing that is kinda masking the meat of the song a...

How can I fix this mix? Please help

please listen to this song and let me know what you think I can do to improve the mix. Are the vocals too high / low / ok? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey, it occurs to me, if anyone wants to link to mp3's where they (over)used their favorite plugin that would be cool so we could hear the damage that can be one.

Yeah, Doppler's cool to play with, but I've yet to find a real use for it. It's just a little too drastic for anything I've tried it on so far.

Re: Yes - Fragile

if you had to write a pop song to cash in on some publishing, could you create somethig as successful as that? I dont think I could, its kinda hard not to respect a tune like that. So if I don't like a song but it made money I have to respect it? Sorry, my respect doesn't work that way. Lots of mus...

Favorite Plugins for twisting the sound sound ound und nd d

Hi, I'm interested in hearing what plugins people love to use to warp and distort and twist and melt the sound. Lately I've been abusing the Waves plugins Mondomod and Enigma. Great fun, cool trippy sounds. So what are your favorites?

Re: Recorded and mixed all on an Otari 8 track

I listened to "Last Breath"
Sounds good, even on my crappy computer speakers at 128 kbs, so I imagine the real thing sounds great. The vocals fit the vibe perfectly, and the mix sounds great, if a touch busy at parts (the slide guitar competes with vocals at times). Nice tune, nice recording.

As a die hard do it yourself-er, I hate to say this, but don't do it yourself. This is not something you can teach yourself. Hire someone.

Re: GAY AS THE DAY IS LONG

Then try to compress the shit out of it and make it still sound great with a low quality tape fidelity. Why would I do that? Why not use the best tools available to me within a reasonable "tape-op" level budget? I recorded on a 4-track for over 15 years. Now that I have a computer with N-track I ca...

Re: GAY AS THE DAY IS LONG

I can fart into a telephone and run it through a flanger with some crazy reverb and it would be unique.... But we all know that's not what I'm talking about. Actually I have no idea what you're talking about. You dared me to record something unique using my "digital whatever," and I did. So that's ...
