my girlfriend took one and read the whole thing. pssst... hey!! wake up!! you were talking in your sleep! Now I know I'm dreaming: one day later, I get another pair of tapeop's in the mail (#59 this time). To further confound my belief in reality, my girlfriend snatched one copy for herself again. ...

It's weird, after 6 months of not receiving any of the mags, I got two copies today. Even weirder yet, my girlfriend took one and read the whole thing.

I don't remember if Logic 5.5 would allow you to do this, but in 7 you can show the automation in the arrange window, and raise the entire volume of each track, leaving the automation intact; just louder. I can't remember what key you have to hold down while moving the hyperdraw around, but I think ...

I've seen some odd things like this with Firefox before, but here's something you might want to try: First, take the firefox icon off of your dock, and put the copy of the app in your applications folder in the trash. Next, re-open the .dmg, and copy the application from the virtual disk to your app...

While I subscribe to both the 'right' way, and the 'thumb around' way, one neat thing I like about playing barre-type chords with my thumb, is that it frees up my pinky to add some extra stuff to my rhythm playing. Like, say, adding 9ths and such.

If it was an ADC, not DVI cable, you may have a hard time extending it. If I remember properly, ADC cables run AC power through them, eliminating the need to plug the monitor into the wall.

To check if you have admin rights on your mac, go to system preferences: accounts. in that column on the left (at least that's how it looks in 10.4), under your username, does is say 'Admin'?

I've had some dongle hell with logic over the years, which made going with Logic Express 7 this time around an easier decision. (no dongle)

I used to love Studio Vision and how it handled midi. I'm sure if I saw it now I wouldn't be so nostalgic, when compared to the ease of use of so many things I take for granted. (hot swappable firewire, usb midi, networked midi, osx, modern DAWS, etc.)

The Randall + Auralex sounds like a winning combo. I'm thinking of putting some of the drum riser Auralex foam inside the cab for the speaker box to rest on (it faces upward), since the only frequencies that heavily leak out are the extreme lows. Besides that, with amp at a decent volume, it's about...

I considered buying the Randall, but ended up building my own. (simply because I felt like DIY'ing) Mine is closer in design to the Randall. It certainly comes in handy in the city, for both keeping the volume down, and keeping yelling, sirens, babies crying, etc. off of your guitar tracks. What rea...

I have a MDD G4 which used to be, as usual, as loud as a jet engine. The power supply died, and I replaced it with a new power supply (i forget the brand, but the next time I have it open, I'll take a look). While it's definitely not silent, it's about as loud as my graphite g4 was. The super-loud p...

I resisted posting in this thread last year, but my old apartment definitely was haunted. The funniest event which occurred, was one night I was asleep, and I was awoken by the TV being on in the living room. I got up to turn it off, and there was no one in the living room, but somehow the TV and VC...
