Helping my friend find a Label in the Bay Area...
Hey Folks All, Haven't posted in a loooong while. Nice to be back. Anyhow, I have a very, VERY talented songwriter friend and client whom has been working with me on his second album over the past year and it's coming out great. His first album (which I also recorded) was picked up by a local indie ...

Hey folks, Sorry for the prolonged absence from this thread: for some reason the notices were not coming to my emails and I had no idea there was still "activity" here! Anyhow, I've been asking around the DP crowd with all this, and my bud Thaddeus Moore from Sprout City found a definitive solution ...

Hey, I PM'ed you (again) as well... I have a Sonamp 260 by Sonance which...according some specs I found online...puts out 100 Watts at 4 Ohms and 60 Watts at 8 Ohms. Which I'd guess would get you about 40 watts at 16 ohms? Would this work for you? It's in perfect cosmetic and physical condition and ...

As for monitoring goes, I am not using the DAW software to perform monitoring (which introduces latency). I am using the audio interface hardware (RME Fireface in my case) and its associated DSP-power zero-latency monitoring application (RME TotalMix) to handle all monitoring. I think monitoring th...

Re: And furthermore...
This is not correct. You need to instantiate the plugin on your input channel so that as the signal is recorded to the DAW it gets processed by the plugin and slid back in time. Does that make sense? The Voxengo plugin isn't drawing any waveforms. Your DAW is doing that! If you put the plugin on th...

well.... the best way is just to track to tape and then dump it Dagnabbit yer still not pickin' up what I be layin' down! (Sighs) It's all about the ability to do non-linear digital style editing to tracks recorded to tape in real-time as they happen. I absolutely DEFY you to be able to locate your...

I wanted to put this in a seperate post so it wouldn't get lost in the shuffle as it's technically important: I went to the Voxengo site and was bummed to find (unless I'm missing something) that the plugin is only for PC and only in VST format. I'm on a Mac using Digital Performer, so I did a littl...

Brad, First of all, this "trick" of yours? COOLEST. SHIT. EVER . I mean, this really opens up broad new worlds for me and I'm not sure if everyone here's really embraced the ramifications of this. I think to Toaster's question about how this really is a benefit over just recording to tape can really...

I often run signals through the line amps on my Otari MX5050 8-track and yeah the difference is significant...moreso than you might think considering that it's not necessarily a deck that's known for any kind of amazing holy grail of analog signal path the way some of those old Ampexes are or anythi...

So, another dumb question: what you are saying is that he was triggering the gate on the room mic using the snare...meaning that whenever the snare was hit the gate opened up and allowed the heavily-compressed room mic to be heard? So that essentially the compressed room mic added bombast to the sna...
