Re: payback's a bitch.....
In downtown Minneapolis, they did this on Block E (the former red light district)... now there's an insipid, Disney-like strip mall entertainment complex that caters to the ESPNZone set. And a 40 foot neon Hard Rock Cafe guitar across the street from First Avenue. yeah, screw Block E. I'll never fo...

Re: Modern Computer Cassette Tape Deck...
first off, the link is messed up - should be PlusDeck.
I'd get one if I could find it for $20 or so - I have just enough cassettes that I haven't gotten around to digitizing through external methods. but they want something ridiculous like $150, at least last time I checked a price...

Re: LOUD 11-13hz generator?
a few thoughts to add... if you have any ham radio organizations near you, check with them and see if they do any swap meets (there's one coming up in Buffalo, MN, in the next month or so). I got 2 solid-state oscillators and a tube oscillator for about $40 all together. when I was first investigati...

Re: recording voice over for a movie, and this client
sounds like, since he wants it in a "digital" format, that he's got an editor with an NLE, but maybe no good mics / pres, and he doesn't want to go direct into a soundcard mic input. if that's the case, it'll be the NLE editor's headache for ADR, not yours. In your position, I'd drag my own tv/vcr/d...

hmmm take a pic close up or scan the tag, then print it out to the same size as the original, and tape it to the cartrige? sounds from the description that it's not an optical read, it's an RFID or similar device (he tried removing one and damaged it by bending, so it's got components inside the st...

Re: In need of baseball bat for...
I have 3 ideas. (2) Take a dremil tool to an old cartridge and cut the label out and tape it to a HP cartridge. I like this idea quite a bit - if it's an RFID tag, I would think it would need to be in the close proximity of the cartridge, but not necessarily taped to the cartridge. I would do this,...
