Up until recently I just got 'tuner cleaner' from Radioshack, but there's none of those left locally. I've never done faders yet. Just replaced them. Is there anything on the market that doesn't lose the physical resistance in a pot after you cleaned it? Seems everything, tuner cleaner, or whatever ...

Dang it, I just did a whole unit with De-Oxit thinking it was a lubricating cleaner

ya seems like you don't have multiple phases to flip - just the one phase plus ground coming in on the unbalanced line what are you hoping to achieve ? I think you mean polarized or do they actually have no +? Bipolar is something else, and I think your power supply is dual rail, or at least that's what I'd call it.
