Re: Roswell Incident, the band: a cautionary tale...

Artists can be very cynical....I recorded an 18 year old girl who was an AMAZING songwriter and had a voice that was unlike anything I've heard. She had intended the CD I recorded of her to be for friends/family, etc. When it was done, it came out WAY better than I thought it could. I tried to encou...

Re: Aanalog Recording Books

"Modern Recording Techniques" by Huber (I think they're up to 5th or 6th revision).

"Sound Advice"...forget author. Wayne Wadhams?

Both these are really good basic, theory oriented books.

Re: TapeOp AUDIO Magazine! -- Larry please read!

The best woudl be if Tape Op got a channel on Sirius Sattelite Radio (don't know if you have this yet, but it really is amazing!!!).

Playing cool tunes and having guests and "spotlights". "Weekend Workshops"

I would never channel surf again.....(which would make my wife quite happy!)

You can get a Sony MDR50 MiniDisc on eBay for about $100 bucks. They work great.

Re: suggestions for a console with 16 ins 16 outs on the che

The best deal in used mixers (for preamps) are Ramsa. I've seen WR820s (20 input) on eBay for $200 bucks. I love these preamps.

Re: This shit don't PLAY in L.A. homies

The best part of this is that SoundScene is posting the funniest, most entertaining shit that's been on this board in a looooong time. much funnier for me, than inside jokes amongst folks who are here every day. seriously. i still can't believe people are getting their chains yanked so bad, thinkin...

Boob sauce and Fieryjack cheese? Sounds scrumptious, trodden....but I prefer not to be branded (even though I like Mexican food)!

SoundScene,

First, thanks for getting this thread back on topic....seems you've attracted some nice talent on this board

You probably are experienced and good at what you do.....just tone it down a bit, homey.

Re: This shit don't PLAY in L.A. homies

Hey SoundScene, You have a stinky brain that lacks the capability to process the English language, let alone anything that could be defined as music (...not too much of a stretch). Do you just drop your loads and make a smelly mess on boards all day? Seriously, what do you do??? (a question for your...

SoundScene,

Your words are those of an insecure punk. I hope you stay in L.A....with an attitude like that you'd never make it in New York.

Re: are you/your singers tracking flat?

This is definitely true. Even if you (or your singer) has a great sense of pitch, you still need to be conscious of these things 1) Take time to LISTEN to the pitch BEFORE you sing. 2) Push you diaphragm hard enough to hit the notes.....sometimes the main culprit of flat singing is just laziness tha...
