Oh and in conventional rock bands hard left and right guitar doubles usually work best for me. If there were a keyboard player though I would probably pan the doubles hard left and middle left, then keys opposite on the right.

For a 3 piece and most rock bands I would generally double the guitar everywhere, then add an accent third guitar as necessary. However if you don't want to do that then my suggestion would be to pan the main guitar throughout the whole song a bit to the right...not hard right. Dependent on the drum...

I'd avoid AMD, get a cheaper Intel dual core if you have to but not AMD.
Do you already have SATA hard drives? You're going to want that as well if you don't...

In KC? Yeah I've lived here for 5 years and haven't had any luck on local gigs, all of my work is in Iowa or stuff I mix at my house.

I don't play free gigs at for profit establishments but if I really enjoy working with/for someone I might cut them a break if the work is a treat for me.

I know it sounds shitty, but it is an honest question... has anyone heard?
People like this guy are the reason why an ilok is necessary.

Bitching about needing an ilok to use software is like bitching about needing a key to start your car. And seriously though who has been under a rock for at least 5 years and doesn't already have one anyway? Or are you using bootleg software? Ilok is IMHO the most convenient and user friendly copy p...

Come to an agreement with your band. Send one song to their buddy and one song to a pro. If their buddy is decent maybe your band is better to save it's money. If not then the range of difference between the two should convince the band that it's worth it for a pro. Ultimately I feel that with my ba...

Neve 8816 and fader pack opinions?

Someone I'm working for wants to buy a couple of these to pair with his PT HD rig with Apogee converters... Any opinions on this unit (not the philosophy of analog summing in general) in comparison to summing boxes by Dangerous, etc?

You can try to clean the cab but obviously if you have no idea of the condition then your level of success will vary. Hosing it down seems like it'd do more harm than good, I think cleaning by hand is the only way to do it if you intend to restore it and not wreck it...again though, you will have to...

I understand your point, butt I'm specifically looking for a 5 watt amp, and wondering if the Bug is good, or if ya reco another. Guess I should jes' said that, eh? 5 watts isn't really quiet either...don't know if that matters but I wouldn't worry about it not moving air...you definitely...

I have had okay luck with a Bllackheart 5 watt combo, but I sold it and got a used Tweed Fender Bassman which kills it. I think you get what you pay for on a lot of these. IMHO buying a nicer amp used for a little more money is a wiser purchase than buying a cheapo T00B amp. I mean the Little Giant ...
