Yeah, it was a good experience. I had a little bit of time figuring out why I couldnt hear anything. And then I realized the monitors were cut! I probably would have made the same mistake, I am not too hot on headphone mixes. I really need to study up more on those.

If you're flipping phase on drum mics and don't hear any change, you're not really listening. That's what I thought! They sound really, really close. It kind of "breaks the frame" if you know what I mean. I'd try backing them off another few inches. Drums are fun. Next time, move the tom mics aroun...

Yeah I did some eq and some compression. Gates on some stuff. I wish I had some reverb though.

Sweet, 4hrs for setting up and tracking drums isn't a very long time. I like to at least get a full day of just getting the drums sounding right before even thinking about tracking! Yes that would have been nice. Would have been able to work on a lot more technique and placement. I got a lot of ble...

Haha yeah. Man, he brought in like 2000000 extra cymbal extension things. I was trying to get the mic stands set up and it was so tricky!

Ooooo. Did you try to compress? I know compression sucks on overheads mostly but if it was loud then maybe you could bring the loud part down? I am sure this is nothing new to you however.

Well it went good. I was supposed to have 2 partners there to help me and they both pulled a no show so it was all on me! I did good. Now I know you all will get a kick out of this...
