Thanks for the info Dave- I got the contracts today. I'll have our lawyer look over them, but what does this part mean? At the moment I am able to offer fees of (for each song use): Options: A) $xxx all in ($xxx per side) B) $yyy all in ($yyy per side) C) $zzz all in ($zzz per side) Of course, the x...

Conway Twitty / Number Ones
Recently, my dad gave me his vinyl collection. It is by far the single greatest gift my dad could ever have given me. It's mostly centered on 1977-1982 country. These are my earliest recollections of music. They are what I grew up on. It has been an interesting experience - I haven't heard some of t...

Pink Floyd's Echoes has some great hard panned double drums at one point if remember correctly. Fiona Apple's Limp off of When the Pawn has some great multi-tracked drums @2:07. One take playing a straight beat and another overdubbing some cool fills. Anytime you can take a lesson from Jon Brion is ...

It seems as though they found us through google of all things and landed on either our myspace site or our official site. I haven't spoken to the person myself, our percussionist handles the PR stuff; I like to hole up in a studio and write songs. A good lesson in making sure your website text is re...

Somebody want to use my song in a tv show! What do I do?
We've got some interest in using a couple of our songs in a tv show as incidental background music. Or maybe a theme song, I'm not sure. Our songs are available through Pump Audio, so I could just direct the TV people over there and let them license the music through them, or we could deal one on on...

drummer needed in San Diego (surf/explosions in the sky)
The Professors are looking for a drummer. Our drummer is moving to North Carolina July 1st. The Professors are not necessarily a strict "surf band". We are always instrumental, but we like lots of different sorts of music, so we tend to write songs in different genres. In one show we might need you ...

You're talking about a dummy load setup. Here's how you can safely do it: Your Princeton speaker is 8 ohms right? Get an 8 ohm thd hotplate and set it to "load". Disconnect your princeton's speaker and connect the hotplate. Then run the line out into your "power amp" (maybe a crate powerblock if you...

I had a Deluxe Reverb and I hated it. Just curious, what did you hate about it? Was it an old one with an aged speaker? It was a '76 corksniffer - JJ tubes and a celestion gold. I just didn't like the way it was voiced. It was too bright and harsh with my 6120 - and it was too loud to crank, but no...
