yeah your probly right. I woiuld buy more cheap mics before the more expensive ones. But im also a bad impuse spender, so if i had 500 bucks lying around and need a mic it would be the 4050. But you are right about the blowing the budget thing.

thats some good advice there. But i would suggest that you try your hand at a an audio tecnica 4050. Thats microphones are fabulous. I like you would get a lot of use out of it. If you look hard enough you could find one used for about 5 bills. I thats probly about the best mic in that price range.

I have one of those Ibanez Ergodyne basses. Not the crazy looking ones, but the one that looks just like the ibanez soundgear basses. I love it, love the way it sounds, sustains, feels. I can get any thing i want out of it, after it goes through my sans amp. Never ever had a tunning problem. This th...

yeah Red Hot Chili Peppers! The bass guitar is all the sub 120hz stuff!! Also an album that did pretty well Give Up from The Postal Service. That has the same kind of thing. That should be some good inspiration. Sorry for the patened gated 40hz responce, I just think of that when i think of a kick d...

yeah ive use the HD 896. That is a downfall that you have to reach into the back to flip those tiny switches. I doubt there is anyway to get those switches into some kind of patchbay. So im kind of guessing in the dark, but sometimes you want to use the internal mic pre, and some times you don't. I ...

I like the new colors just fine. The old yellow was rad though. Defintly make a skin so we can all be pleased!! I like to use the (black on white vs white on black) thing in OS X. The old yellow would turn this awsome purple color in revese. This new brown turns a pretty sweet blue. I think there sh...

I would say its analog vs. digital, because as albini says he wont even touch it, he is never going to use a pro tools rig so why does he care if it sounds worse or better? And i think it does matter a lot because they are trying to find a good way to store recorded works for the future, this is som...

Gate some 40hz sine wave to it. If you want it to sound like a real kick drum. Thats the old school way of cheating. The new school way would be to use "SOUND REPLACER" but you should only use that plug-in if you want to change your kick drum into a duck!

I really like all of the things that have been said here! Its great to see the Professor still working at being an awsome guy. Now about recording school. I graduated a year ago next week. My school resulted in no big time internship at some big serious studio editing drum tracks for nickleback. I l...
